Course Description
LICQual Level 7 Postgraduate International Diploma in Disaster management aims to address learners with issues of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation through a multi- and transdisciplinary perspective. This qualification will provide you with specialized skills, which will enable you to apply disaster risk reduction within your specific discipline or area of specialty.
At the end of this program, the participants will be able to:
- Develop comprehensive approach to disaster management comprises four phases: prevention, preparedness, response and recovery (PPRR) to ensure a balance between the reduction of risk and the enhancement of community resilience
- Understand different challenges faced in disaster reduction and controlling stage.
- Understand Capacity: strengths and resources available to anticipate, cope with, resist and recover from disasters. Coping capacity: the ability to face and manage disasters.
- Systematically evaluates the damage that could be caused by a potential disaster, the severity of the impact, and the available medical resources during a disaster to reduce population vulnerability and increase the capacity to cope with disasters.
- Understand the role of governmental disaster management departments.
QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
The LICQual Level 7 Postgraduate International Diploma in Disaster Management comprises 6 mandatory units making a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
